The Radiology Clinic offers a professional staff of 17 highly experienced radiologists. All of our radiologists have graduated from an accredited medical school, passed a licensing examination, and have completed a minimum of 4 years of graduate medical education (residency). Most have received additional education in the form of a post residency fellowship in a further field of specialty in radiology. Our radiologists are approved to practice by the American Board of Radiology.
James H. Bankston Jr., M.D.
Dr. Bankston, a native of Alexander City, Alabama, joined The Radiology Clinic in August of 2006. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University in Durham, NC and his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama and his residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham, Department of Radiology. Dr. Bankston completed a fellowship in MRI with an emphasis on body and musculoskeletal imaging at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He maintains board certification by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Bearden, a native of Selma, Alabama, joined The Radiology Clinic in July of 2006. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. His completed his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his internship and residency at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Bearden completed his fellowship in neuroradiology at the Barrow Neurological Institute of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Elizabeth Caldwell, a native of Grenada, MS, has lived in Tuscaloosa since 1996. She received an undergraduate degree in physics from The University of Mississippi and a medical degree from University of Mississippi Medical School. She then completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, and then a fellowship in neuroradiology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
